Launching Ceremony of Standard Operating Procedures for Local Assembly of Vehicles and Component Manufacturing

The Ministry of Industries has launched Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for local assembly of vehicles and automotive component manufacturing to encourage worldwide automobile manufacturers to locally assemble their vehicles. The event was held on 16th March 2021 at Shangri-La hotel Colombo and sponsored by Sri Lanka Automotive Component Manufacturers’ Association (SLACMA) and Sri Lanka Automobile Assemblers Association (SLAAA). Mr. Sasiranga De Silva who was an active member of the SOP committee and Dr. Himan Punchihewa participated in the event representing the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
